AmeriCorps Builds a Wheelchair Ramp for a Disabled Veteran

This video was made from photos taken over the course of three weeks. You can see the progress as over 20 AmeriCorps service members, serving at Rebuilding Together New Orleans, built a wheelchair ramp for a low income, 86 year old, and disabled veteran. This building project shows how service members from each AmeriCorps program work together to fulfill one mission. VISTA members helped raise funds for the project, and National, State, and NCCC AmeriCorps service members carried out the building project. Thanks to AmeriCorps, a disabled veteran can freely enter and exit his home.

Rebuilding Together New Orleans is a continuing volunteer effort to improve the quality of life of low income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, disabled, veterans, or single heads of household, through home repair and revitalization of New Orleans' neighborhoods.
