AmeriCorps Works for Stem Education! During my AmeriCorps term-of-service I assisted FIRST, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring a new generation of science and technology leaders. As part of my service, I helped start a robotics team at the Community Charter School of Cambridge. We are the first FIRST TECH Challenge team in Cambridge. The students worked hard throughout the year, not only to learn robotics and engineering, but also to share their work with the local community and industry professionals. At the MA state robotics competition, we won the Connect Award for our efforts!
